Saturday Racing Tips - Caulfield, Rosehill, Doomben, Morphettville & Belmont on July 24.

Blackbook experts preview all five metro meetings with Saturday racing tips for Caulfield, Rosehill, Doomben, Morphettville, and Belmont on July 24.

Race 1 12:05pm - NEDS VOBIS GOLD STAYERS Tips

Maserartie Bay could have the class edge over this field. The Maher/Eustace-trained four-year-old owns five wins and three placings from 17 starts, so he’s rarely out of the money and he’s unbeaten in two attempts over this distance. That’s the best statistic and he won’t have to do any work off the inside barrier draw.

We respect the chances of Royal Crown and 11-time winner Mahamedeis, but Maserartie Bay is the form runner and we expect him to go well.

Race 4 1:50pm AEST – GARRY FRANKLIN BM90 Tips

There is plenty of money coming for Miss Albania. The three-time winner showed plenty of ability during her first campaign and the spring could be on the cards for the four-year-old. She finished second behind La Mexicana last start, who she faces on Saturday.

La Mexicana is our top pick based on that run and punters get better odds. She is a slick six-time winner from nine starts, so she has class on her side. Jamie Kah rides and the bigger bets are starting to drop for the top weight.

We are keen on Murrumbidgee River to get the job done. The Maher/Eustace-trained gelding should be unbeaten after getting no luck last start, but he hit the line powerfully at Sandown to narrowly miss. It followed an impressive debut win at Ballarat where he scored by three lengths, so the ability is clear to see.

Most of the early money was for Token Spirit, but markets have evened up. Token Spirit is shooting for three consecutive wins and he’s the biggest threat to Murrumbidgee River, but we don’t think he will complete the hat trick.

Race 5 1:35pm AEST – SCHWEPPES BM78 Tips

Harpo Marx is all the rage in the Schweppes BM78 and rightfully so. The Bjorn Baker-trained gelding sprouted wings to win at Randwick last start and a repeat is on the cards. He got the job done by 1.8 lengths and he stays in the same grade, so the result could repeat. 2kg comes off his back from Tom Sherry, who is riding confidently this season.

No Compromise looks like a logical quinella option. He has yet to miss a win or placing from his last six starts, so the consistency is there and punters get fair odds. He could run one-two with Harpo Marx, but the favourite is on top.

Race 8 3:25pm AEST – MIDWAY BM72 Tips

Money has come for Arctic Thunder, which opened at $5.50 and is currently trading at $4.40. The Gary Portelli-trained filly has been racing against quality opposition and she owns four wins and four placings from 12 starts. However, we can’t look past Ashim.

The Matthew Smith-trained import comes off an improved run for second at Randwick and we expect him to win soon. He gets an ideal chance to breakthrough in Australia on Saturday and punters get fair odds. Put Ashim on top in what should be a competitive race.

Miami Fleiss is all the rage and with the track holding in the soft range, she should be too quick for them. The three-year-old filly won her first two starts on her ear before struggling in heavy conditions, so she should enjoy the track on Saturday. Miami Fleiss won her last start by 3.5 lengths and she showed an excellent turn-of-foot. Punters have to take short odds, but we wouldn’t turn them down.

Eloquently has been best-backed to beat the favourite. She is shooting for her fifth consecutive win, so the class is there. Her most recent win at Sunshine Coast ranks well, so the quinella should be between the two favourites.

Race 6 2:18pm AEST – XXXX BM72 Tips

So Clever is the standout runner in this field. The John Moore-trained four-year-old is unbeaten after two starts and he could be rising through the grades without much trouble. He scored by 2.3 lengths at Eagle Farm and that came against a good field, so there is plenty of upside. Helping his chances on Saturday is the weight of 52kg. That makes him awfully tough to beat and he’s a weighting special.

Luskin Hero has also been running in good form. He scored back-to-back wins to open his campaign before running third. He is the best chance of giving So Clever his first loss.

Race 2 12:52pm AEST – DOMINANT BM78 Tips

Unlaced is a former Kiwi that needed the fresh-up run at Gawler. She finished fifth against a tidy field and she typically improves with a run under her belt. The four-time winner owns a win and a placing from two second-up starts, so we wouldn’t overlook her chances.

Our top pick is The Dec, who comes from Victoria with two wins from four starts. The three-year-old son of Kermadec won by a nose at Geelong last start and that form typically stacks up well in Adelaide. Put him on top at generous odds from bookmakers.

Race 4 2:02pm AEST – TAB BM86 Tips

All eyes are on Pindaric, who is unbeaten after five starts. The four-year-old gelding had to work to win last start and we’re confident he can remain unbeaten against this lineup on Saturday. He owns four wins over this distance and three wins have come on rain-affected tracks, so the heavy conditions won’t be an issue.

Dexelation is a nine-time winner that poses a threat. He likes the track and distance, so we’re not surprised to see money coming his way. Keep him safe and he could quinella the race with the favourite.

Zaratite is the standout performer in this field and his class should take him close. The five-year-old owns four wins and five second placings from 10 starts, so he doesn’t know how to run a bad race. The Williams-trained runner gets the services of William Pike and two of his wins have come at Belmont.

Punters have come for his early odds and despite being an odds-on runner, he should give punters a good sight.
