Saturday Racing Tips 7.8.2021 – Flemington, Randwick, Doomben, Murray Bridge & Belmont

We have our best value racing tips for action at Flemington, Randwick, Doomben, Murray Bridge, and Belmont. Spring racing is getting closer and the good thoroughbreds are making their way back to the track. We identify these runners in our best bets this Saturday, which features an exciting card of racing around Australia.
  • Flemington
  • Randwick
  • Doomben
  • Murray Bridge
  • Belmont

Looking to bounce back after an unlucky run is Lindhout, who got too far back at Flemington last start and had to sprout wings just to place. The five-year-old gets a rider change for this race and we’re not surprised she has come up as the favourite. Her win last month showed a fine turn-of-foot and the long straight at Flemington is ideal.

Aidensfield presents the biggest challenge. She has faced tough fields throughout her career and she made good ground in her most recent run.

Race 7 3:55pm AEST – VRC MEMBER J HOY BM78 Tips

Hosier is one of the more promising imports in recent history and he hasn’t disappointed since arriving in Australia. The well-bred son of Camelot is unbeaten in three Australian starts, including a 3.8-length win at Sandown last start. He could be a spring type and trainer Robert Hickmott could take the field to church. Punters get an odds-on quote, but he should do his price justice.

There is also betting support at double-figure odds for Tooradin and Orleans Rock. Both runners could add value to multiples, but it looks like Hosier’s race to lose.

The Astrologist defeated a similar field at Flemington two starts back before running third behind Samson at Caulfield. He is a six-time winner and a two-time winner at Flemington, so we’re not surprised he has come up as the favourite.

A runner that could beat him is Banquo, who finished only a half-length behind The Astrologist last start. He might only be a two-win horse, but he has potential and punters get odds worth taking.

Race 2 11:50pm AEST – CLIFF CLARE BM78 Tips

Not much went right for Harpo Marx at Rosehill last start but he will enjoy racing against this level of opposition. The Bjorn Baker-trained stayer got too far back and didn’t handle the conditions, so being on a good surface is ideal. James McDonald rides and despite carrying a big weight, he has a significant class advantage.

Spencer and Pecuniary Interest are best-backed to beat the favourite. Pecuniary Interest is a last start winner for John Sargent that should run well at each-way odds.

All eyes are on how well Remarque returns from a spell. The Team Hawkes-trained colt made an impressive when winning on debut at Rosehill before finishing fifth at Randwick behind the talented Anamoe. His trial form since consists of two wins at Rosehill, so he’s prepared and ready to fire.

Sky Command is unbeaten after two starts and she has been kept safe with bookmakers. She won by two lengths on a heavy track last start, but she looks more than just a winter type. It could pay to watch for late betting moves.

Race 3 12:33pm AEST – CASCADE C3 PLATE Tips

Most of the attention in the market is with Tramonto, who has been around the mark throughout his career. However, we think Contemptuous is the runner to back. The five-year-old son of Rubick is fresh up this season after winning twice last time in work. He looked good in a recent trial and there has been specking at each-way odds.

In-form jockey Baylee Nothdurft takes the ride and we advise punters to take the odds available before they shorten.

Race 7 3:07pm AEST – COUNTRY MUSIC 0MW Tips

So Clever suffered his first career defeat when second at Doomben last start, but he didn’t lose any admirers. The five-year-old had no luck in running after traveling wide, but he stuck on gamely and almost got the chocolates. His first two wins were special and carrying 54kg makes him one of the bets of the day.

Far Too Easy is unbeaten after two starts and he has looked above average. He won by four lengths at Grafton last start and he deserves his chance at the city level.

Murray Bridge

Race 1 12:17pm AEST – MAGIC MILLIONS BM76 Tips

Spanish Heirloom scored an impressive four consecutive wins last preparation before running into a tough field at Morphettville. She is unbeaten in all four starts at this distance and dropping from listed grade to BM76 is ideal. She also drops in weight to 53kg, so we’re surprised she isn’t shorter in the market.

It’s likely due to top-weight Brimarvi Vehero attracting attention. He is a six-time winner and he has the experience edge. He will likely push the favourite close, but we give the nod to Spanish Heirloom.

Race 5 2:47pm AEST – ADRIAN PEDERICK BM68 Tips

May’s West did the job at Gawler by 5.5 lengths last start and it’s tough to look past that effort. The four-year-old daughter of Helmet went straight to the front and never looked back, so she owns good tactical pace. The firming of the track shouldn’t be a problem and she will no doubt give them something to chase.

Echo Boomer is a threat following consecutive placings. She doesn’t win often with three wins from 25 starts, but she is consistent and will test the favourite late.

Race 8 6:10pm AEST – NGAWYNI BM78 Tips

Most of the money has come for Too Close The Sun and it comes as no shock. The six-year-old faced high-level opposition in Melbourne last season and he ran at Group 1 level last time out at Flemington. That form bodes well for this level of racing and we thought he would be a $2 chance here. Money is starting to come for him now, which adds to our confidence levels.

Last of the Line is also well-supported. He is a six-time winner from 11 starts and he gets a chance to go to another level. It’s a steep rise in class, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see him winning.
