Sandown racing takes place on Wednesday, March 12, with an eight-race program set down for Sandown racetrack.

Race 1 No. 4- Hot Too Go
Race 4 No. 5- McKeyla
Race 5 No. 9- Tarvue
Race 7 No. 10- Lavalier

Race 1 No. 4- Hot Too Go

Hot Too Go can break the Maiden in Race 1. The Danny O’Brien-trained galloper is yet to win in nine starts but has shown promise with four placings, including a runner-up last spring in the Listed Geelong Classic (2200m). He resumed at Sandown over the 1400m on February 19 and was forced to work early on when settling outside the leader before sticking on for 3rd in what was a promising return. The son of Too Darn Hot went 1.6 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner. He should have improvement to come at his second run and over the mile, while the blinkers go back on. Blake Shinn rides and strikes at 26% when combining with the stable.

Race 4 No. 5- McKeyla

This looks to be a suitable race for McKeyla. The Robbie Giffiths-trained filly finished out of the placings for the first time in her five-start career at Flemington on March 1 when 5th over the 1100m but was beaten less than two lengths and should find this easier. She narrowly missed off a tough run prior to that in this grade at Moonee Valley prior to that and was just as unlucky at Flemington three starts ago when a narrow 3rd. The daughter of Shamus Award comes in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner in this race and draws nicely in barrier 6. Look for her to settle handy and be hard to hold out late in the piece.

Race 5 No. 9- Tarvue

Keen on Tarvue in Race 5. The four-year-old was am impressive winner when stepping up to the 1600m at Pakenham two starts ago, leading all the way. She then tackled a BenchMark 78 at Flemington over the 2000m and just ran out of steam late when 5th behind Revelare. The winner out of that goes from strength to strength, while two others have since come out of the same race and scored since then. The slight drop back to the 1800m might suit at this stage of her preparation and she looks to be value at the quote.

Race 7 No. 10- Lavalier

Lavalier can be an improver in Race 7. The Godolphin galloper has had just the one run this time in and could only manage 5th at Wyong over the 1350m but was back on a very slow tempo before producing the second fastest last 200m. Her only win to date came when second up at Kembla Grange then she did run 3rd behind Evaporate at Moonee Valley after that. The daughter of Microphone should have scope for improvement out to the 1600m and will enjoy a better tempo for this assignment. Damian Lane rides.
