Randwick Racing Tips 15.09.2021 - The Girls to Fire Up

Randwick hosts a seven-race card on Wednesday, September 15, and we have our four best bets available. Our tips include four fillies and mares, so the girls are the focus. We also like Jason Collett, who is riding in excellent form this year.
  • Race 1 1:25pm AEST – No. 4 Mokulua
  • Race 3 2:35pm AEST – No. 8 Narrated
  • Race 4 3:10pm AEST – No. 6 Ita
  • Race 6 4:40pm AEST – No. 1 I Say Hello

Race 1 1:25pm AEST – No. 4 Mokulua

The Clarry Connors-trained three-year-old owns three placings from three starts, so she has come close to breaking through. She finished second on debut at Wyong before producing back-to-back placings on this track. She stepped up in distance to 1400m when running a half-head behind the winner last start, so staying at this distance won’t do her chances any harm.

The daughter of Redoute’s Choice is royally bred, and it’s only a matter of time before she does her parents proud. It’s not an easy field on Wednesday, but barrier two is ideal, and punters should be confident with the favourite.

Race 3 2:35pm AEST – No. 8 Narrated

Value is with Narrated, who has already won twice this preparation. The four-year-old mare led the field at Mudgee last start before kicking away for a 2.3-length victory. It was a nice effort, and despite facing harder opposition this time around, she has plenty of things going in her favour. She gets the inside draw with only 54kg on her back, so that is ideal conditions.

Most of her form has come on rain-affected tracks, including a win at her only start on soft surface. Her form reads well, and punters get each-way odds worth taking. We expect the $6.50 to continue to firm on race day.

Race 4 3:10pm AEST – No. 6 Ita

The Bjorn Baker-trained four-year-old is shooting for three consecutive wins and we wouldn’t be ruling her out. She scored at Bathurst two starts back by 5.5 lengths before winning at Wyong by 1.8 lengths. There is plenty to like about those efforts, especially the easy win second-up. The daughter of All Too Hard owns three wins and four second placings from nine starts, so she is always around the mark.

In-form jockey Jason Collett takes the ride, and he shouldn’t have any problems getting a good run from barrier three. She has a nice turn-of-foot, so expect her to sit just off the pace and come with a big late burst.

Race 6 4:40pm AEST – No. 1 I Say Hello

I Say Hello runs at double-figure odds and that’s too good to pass up. The Kris Lees-trained four-year-old is a three-time winner from six starts, including a half-length win at Hawkesbury last preparation. It was her second consecutive win before finishing third behind All Hallow’s Eve at Randwick. There is plenty to like about that form, especially at the midweek level.

The daughter of Iffraaj didn’t fire at Gosford last start, but it came behind group one types Bradenburg and Nudge. Having Hugh Bowman in the saddle is a bonus and we’re happy to take the generous odds available. Barrier seven is ideal, so include her in selections.
