Race 6: No.6 Made In Mexico
The Adam Durrant-trained galloper is a first-up specialist and fresh off a 10-week break here, looks a serious winning chance in this event.
Last start, the So You Think gelding ended a three-start campaign by finishing fifth over 1000m at Belmont with Chris Parnham in the saddle.
The ten weeks off can only be beneficial to him and resuming today, he will be on fresh legs where he draws wide in gate ten and maps to cross and be on the speed.
He has Lucy Fiore back on board for her second ride on him as he boasts two wins and as many minor placings from his four first-up appearances to date.
Also a winner a t the track, he comes in well weighted with 56.5kgs and should prove hard to run down should he lead them in the run home.
Race 7: No.1 De Grandhomme
Another from the Durrant stable is De Grandhomme who is third-up today and looks ready to display his best in this event.
Last start, the Star Turn gelding was second-up and not disgraced, finished fifth in a Class 1 Hcp, here over 1000m.
With 60kgs and William Pike aboard, he settled mid-field and ran home well, beaten just over two lengths on the line.
Joseph Azzopardi has ridden him three times previously and returns to steer the ship for this assignment.
Ideally drawn in gate two today, he maps to be box-seating on settling and fitter for those two runs back, he may take beating in this contest.
Race 8: No.1 Romming Danger
The Graeme Ballantyne-trained galloper has returned in top-shelf form and second-up here, looks every chance of going back-to-back in this event.
Last start, the Rommel mare resumed off a short 11-week break and did it in style by taking out a Class 3 Hcp over 1200m against city class gallopers at Ascot.
With apprentice Chanel Cooper in the saddle, the mare settled mid-field before steadily making ground and in the run home, finished too strongly for them, claim victory by half a length on the line.
She comes off city class racing here and after Cooper’s claim, carries just 1.5kgs more than her first-up win.
Ideally drawn in gate three today, she maps to settle near mid-field with plenty of cover and a trouble-free run can see her there at the finish again in this contest.
