Race 3 No.6- Tabor
Tabor can go a few spots better than a debut effort that saw him finish 4th at Kyneton on March 20 over the 1469m. The Busuttin/Young galloper settled back in that race and was a bit green but showed a bit over the last 200m when coming home with the fastest split to land just over two lengths away. The son of Wrote comes in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner and with improvement in his fitness and ability to settle, he can get the job done here.
Race 5 No.8- Lowlands
Lowlands can be an improver when she steps out in Race 5. The Ciaron Maher-trained galloper closed off well for 4th when resuming over the 1000m before rising to the 1300m and finishing last of the eight runners at Sandown on March 19. That came in a BenchMark 70 behind the likes of Zloties and Thames. This looks easier and the drop back to the 1200m should suit. She was a winner at this stage of her last preparation before finishing runner-up in a strong form race at the track and trip.
Race 6 No.2- Amoursirra
This looks to be a suitable assignment for Amoursirra to kick off her autumn preparation. The four-year-old was a dominant winner at Pakenham on debut last year before targeting much harder races than this in the city in her others runs. They included a 6th at Group 3 level behind Estriella, while she was luckless when 4th in a couple of runs at Sandown. The Price/Kent Jnr galloper is capable of performing well fresh and this is the easiest race she has tackled since her debut.
Race 7 No.7- King Of Enterprise
King Of Enterprise should be hard to beat in Race 7 of the evening. The Busuttin/Young galloper resumed at Pakenham on March 27 over the 1400m and was held up at the top of the straight before working home with the fastest last 200m, narrowly missing behind Peel The Stickers. He went 2.4 lengths faster than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner. Second up at his last preparation he was a five length improver on figures when scoring at the track and trip in a strong form race before placing 5th behind the recent Australian Derby (2400m) winner, Aeliana, in the Carbine Club Stakes (1600m).
