Mount Gambier racing takes place on Wednesday, June 10 with an 8-race program set down for the Mount Gambier racetrack.

The locally-trained galloper has found his mojo this time in and back on home soil, looks a solid winning chance at odds in this event.

Last start, the Sessions gelding recorded his second career win when he took out a BM56 over 1200m at Horsham.

Lumping 60kgs on a Heavy 8 that day, Neil Farley took him straight to the lead and despite racing keenly, he held them all at bay, going on to win by a length on the line.

Facing BM66 company today, he draws gate seven and maps to settle in the first half-dozen with Dom Tourneur back for his second ride on the gelding.

Placed four times from as many starts here, the four-year-old gets his chance to break the mould and ring-up his first home-track win in this contest.

Race 7: No.1 In That Mode

The Luke O’Connor-trained galloper is in a purple patch of form lately and with a good draw, looks a winning chance in this event.

Last start, the all Australian-bred gelding was shooting for the hat-trick when he stepped-up sharply in grade and wasn’t disgraced when finishing third in a BM70 over 1800m at Morphettville.

Jackson Murphy settled him fourth one off the fence without cover to the turn, where the leader put a space on them and in the run home the five-year-old never gave up, chasing all the way to the line, taking home the minor prize in the race.

He carries more weight today but drops sharply in grade as he takes on BM58 opposition and drops back to the 1400m trip where he is already a winner.

He gets all the favours from gate one today with Murphy steering the ship again.

Both starts on wet tracks have resulted in two victories so the forecast wet conditions here look ideal for him and with a trouble-free run, he looks a major player in this contest.

Race 8: No.3 Toes In First

The Darryl Dodson-trained galloper has improved with each run this preparation and lines-up here looking every chance of going back-to-back in this event.

Last start, the Tosen Stardom gelding showed a ton of improvement when he beat all but one home in a Rating 0-54, here over 1400m.

Drawn the carpark in gate 13 (of 14) that day, Kayla Crowther settled him back in the field and travelled three-wide to the turn before tracking even wider then in the run home, finished down the centre of the track and looked the winner but was grabbed by one better on the day.

Meeting similar company here, he steps-up to the 1550m trip where he gets the gun-run from gate one and has Crowther in the saddle again.

His only win to date came on a wet track so conditions here are perfect for him today and with an ideal draw, he looks the one to beat in this contest.
