Race 7: No.2 Dubai Focus
The Gawler-based galloper is second-up today and after a sensational return to the track, looks the one to beat in this event.
Last start, the Pride Of Dubai gelding resumed after 18 weeks off the scene and simply picked up where he left off last preparation when he clobbered his rivals in a BM72, here over 1400m.
Jason Holder had him leading on settling and from there, never looked like losing, putting 2.5 lengths on the 10-strong field over the line.
Holder sticks with the three-year-old and ideally drawn in gate four, he maps to settle on the speed.
Now a track and distance winner and already a winner second-up, he looks the pick of the crop in this contest.
Race 8: No.8 Beurre Rouge
The Travis Doudle-trained galloper is high-flying this time in and despite a wide draw here, still looks a serious contender at odds in this event.
Last start, the Russian Revolution mare came off a first-up win for the new stable when she only just missed back-to-back success, beating all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1100m at Oakbank.
With Ben Price aboard, she settled back in the field and trapped wide before storming home to grab second prize, beaten a head on the line.
She faces BM62 company here but drops in weight and has Price steering the ship again.
From gate 10, she maps to settle near mid-field and should find cover with a few more drawn outside the mare.
The step-up to the 1250m looks ideal for her at this stage and if she can avoid any trouble in the run, the four-year-old can be there at the finish and well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 9: No.10 Right Of Veto
Peter Hardacre saddles-up the Murray Bridge-based galloper here who is on top of things after two starts this preparation and looks well placed here for another win in this event.
The Barbados filly began her campaign on fire when put four lengths on her maiden rivals over 1400m at Oakbank before beating all but one to the line in a BM68, here over 1525m.
Teagan Voorham was aboard on both occasions and sticks with the filly for this assignment as well.
Dropping slightly in grade here, she will jump from gate five where she maps to settle better than mid-field with cover.
Nicely weighted here, she will strip fitter for those two runs back and from a good draw, looks the one they have to beat in this contest.
