Moe Racing Tips 15.10.2021 - 4 Best Bets

Moe hosts a nine-race card on Friday, October 15, and we have our four best bets available. It's Cup Day at Moe, so the racing is top-class at the provincial level.
  • Race 2 12:30pm No. 4 Major Impact
  • Race 5 2:10pm No. 4 Real Thinker
  • Race 6 2:45pm No. 3 He's the Real Deel
  • Race 8 4:00pm No. 5 Don’t Doubt Dory

Race 2 12:30pm No. 4 Major Impact

Major Impact is a four-year-old son of Real Impact, who owns two placings from four starts. He kicked off his career with a third placing behind Coolshot at Cranbourne in heavy conditions, so he won’t be worried if the rain comes. He then ran fourth in two subsequent runs before finishing second at Moe last start, again coming on a heavy track.

The Enver Jusufovic-trained gelding was within a length of the winner as the odds-on favourite. Despite being beaten at short odds, punters have climbed on board again and we agree. He opened at $2.50 and is currently trading at $2.40, which is a good sign.

Race 5 2:10pm No. 4 Real Thinker

The seven-year-old might be having his 53rd start, but he still demands attention. The son of So You Think returned to form with a win at Moe last start, so having recent experience winning in similar conditions holds him in good stead. The win came by a length against a similar field, so there is no reason why he can’t repeat the effort.

Two of his eight career wins have come at Moe, and four of them on a heavy track. We can’t be certain of the conditions, but with rain predicted on rain day, the track could be in the heavy range. Punters get $6, which is well worth snapping up.

Race 6 2:45pm No. 3 He's the Real Deel

He’s the Real Deel was too good for them at Moonee Valley last start when scoring by 3.5 lengths. The five-year-old gelding didn’t give the opposition a chance when sitting on the pace, which was a tactical change from connections. He had been unlucky when running seventh at Flemington prior, so jockey Brian Higgins took luck out of the equation.

He is a six-time winner, and although yet to win at Moe, he has finished second in both career attempts. There are some nice types in this race, but we wouldn’t be leaving out He’s the Real Deel. He lives up to his name, and he has been an excellent bet throughout his career.

Race 8 4:00pm No. 5 Don’t Doubt Dory

Unbeaten in two starts on a heavy surface, Don’t Doubt Dory is a swimmer. He will be hoping the rain comes on Friday, and he could get conditions to suit. The five-year-old son of Fiorente followed up a win at Moonee Valley two back with a fifth at Sandown behind Floating Artist, which looks like good form for this level of racing.

With six wins from 14 starts, he is a professional winner and punters often get value odds. That’s the case again on Friday as bookmakers are offering $6. We priced him around the $4 mark, so we’re happy to lock in the odds before they drop.
