Kyneton racing takes place on Thursday, May 8, with an eight-race program set down for Kyneton racetrack.
- Race 1 No.6- Sky Sista
- Race 5 No.1- Estrapaz
- Race 6 No.7- Tessa’s Choice
We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Kyneton racetrack.
Race 1 No.6- Sky Sista
Sky Sista should be hard to beat in the opener. The Lloyd Kennewell & Lucy Yeomans-trained galloper has had just the one career start for a 4th behind Santa Ana Moon over the 1200m at Sandown on April 9. She was held up in the straight before producing the fastest last 200m. This looks to be an easier Maiden and it is worth noting the 5th placegetter has since come out and claimed its Maiden at Bendigo, while the winner has been competitive in Saturday grade. Sky Sista will strip fitter for this and draws to save ground from the inside barrier.
Race 5 No.1- Estrapaz
This looks to be a winnable race for Estrapaz. The six-year-old drops in grade and was a tad unlucky when second up at Geelong over the 1300m on April 11 when not seeing daylight from the turn until the 200m before eventually sticking on for 5th behind Prevalied, beaten less than two lengths. He should be suited by the slight rise in trip and was an improver on benchmark figures at this stage of his last preparation, while the large claim for Nadia Daniels gets him down to a winnable weight.
Race 6 No.7- Tessa’s Choice
Keen on Tessa’s Choice in Race 6. The Price/Kent Jnr galloper resumed at Caulfield on April 16 and covered a stack of ground in the run before finding the line well for 3rd behind Alero, going 1.9 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the second best last start figure of any runner. At her last campaign, the daugther of Extreme Choice was a notable improver on benchmark figures when going from a Ballarat Maiden win to a 5th placing at Listed level at Moonee Valley during the Cox Plate carnival. She draws ideally in barrier 4 and is the one to beat.
