Kilmore Racing Tips 28.09.2021 - 4 Best Bets

Kilmore hosts a nine-race card on Tuesday, September 28, and we have our four best bets available. Our tips have all been heavily backed throughout the week.
  • Race 2 1:30pm No. 1 Big Friday
  • Race 5 3:00pm No. 3 Cheryl’s Lad
  • Race 6 3:30pm No. 3 Mystique Falcon
  • Race 7 4:00pm No. 1 Brownie

Race 2 1:30pm No. 1 Big Friday

Big Friday comes off consecutive placings and he looks well placed to win. The four-year-old son of Nostradamus started his career with a seventh at Bendigo before placing behind Deepstrike at Pakenham. He was only a nose behind the winner as a double-figure chance, so it was better than expected. He then returned to Pakenham and ran third behind Oh So Far, so it’s a good form guide.

The Michael Huglin-trained runner has been prepared with a solid trial at Cranbourne, so he looks ready to go and punters get a fair price with bookmakers. We expect the $3.80 to firm on race day.

Race 5 3:00pm No. 3 Cheryl’s Lad

Looking to cap off consecutive second placings is Cheryl’s Lad, who should enjoy the rise in distance. The four-year-old gelding finished second on debut at Cranbourne as a $51 chance before finishing second again at Geelong by a half-length. The son of Sharkbite looks like a natural staying type and we’re not surprised by the money coming for him.

He opened at $4.80 and has firmed into $4. It’s a sizable move for a runner who has paid double figures in both starts to date. He gets every chance from barrier three and we can see his odds firming even more on race day. Take what’s available now.

Race 6 3:30pm No. 3 Mystique Falcon

Punters have to take short odds for Mystique Falcon, but she looked the goods last time out when winning at Pakenham. She scored by only a nose, but she hit the line powerfully after settling well off the pace in the early stages. It was a professional win for a nice type in the making, who shouldn’t be worried about dropping in distance.

The daughter of Pride of Dubai took some time to find her confidence, but we wouldn’t be surprised if she rose through the grades. Getting 1.5kg off her back helps, and although the odds are short, she demands attention at this level.

Race 7 4:00pm No. 1 Brownie

It was only a matter of time before Brownie got the job done, and her maiden win at Mildura was a fine effort. The Maher/Eustace-trained four-year-old won by 2.5 lengths as a $1.50 favourite, so punters are getting a good price at the $2.40. She gets lumped with a big weight for this race, but with 4kg claim takes her back down to 60kg.

She looks to have a bright future at the midweek level, and she could even mature into a longer distance type. Her turn-of-foot was evident last start, so she goes on top against this level of opposition. Her odds could firm to around $2 on race day, so take what’s available now.
