Kembla Grange racing takes place on Friday, March 14 with an 8-race program set down for Kembla Grange racetrack.
  • Race 1: No.9  Channelling
  • Race 6: No.10  World Alliance
  • Race 7: No.5  Brigidine Gal

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for  Kembla Grange racetrack.

Race 1: No.9  Channelling

The Edward O’Rourke-trained Channelling is second-up here and looks well placed to break through for her first win.

Last start, the Impending filly made a successful return to the track after a 13-week spell when she beat all but one home in a 1300m Maiden at the Hawkesbury track.

Tyler Schiller settled her back in the field and despite travelling wide most of the way, still found something in the run home to arrive in time to claim the silver medal in the race.

Schiller sticks with her here and from gate five, maps to settle mid-field with cover.

Fitter for one run back, the step -up to the 1400m trip looks ideal here and with a trouble-free run, she looks one of the main contenders for the big prize.

Race 6: No.10  World Alliance

Matt Smith saddles-up World Alliance here who is two starts back from a spell and is ideally placed to grab the glory in this event.

Last start, the Rubick gelding made it back-to-back podium finishes when he beat all but one to the line in a BM78 over 1100m under lights at Canterbury.

James McDonald had him taking over inside the final 200m and looked home for all money but was grabbed on the line by a swooper (carrying 3.5kgs less weight).

He steps up in grade here but drops 6kgs to tackle the BM94 event.

Jason Collett returns to pilot the ship where the five-year-old gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to save ground, settling mid-field on the fence.

With a little luck in the run home, securing clean air, he can be there at the finish.

Race 7: No.5  Brigidine Gal

The Joe Pride-trained galloper is third-up here and with an even start, looks set to give this event a real shake.

Last start, the Al Maher filly improved lengths of her first-up run and took out a BM64 over 1300m on her home track at Warwick Farm.

Regular rider Regan Bayliss was back on board that day and after settling back in the field, put in the big ones in the run home and did best to win by more than a length on the line.

Taking on black-type company for the first time, she also steps up to the mile trip here where she looks well suited after that last effort.

Jumping from barrier eight (of 16), she maps to cross and settle near mid-field with cover and has Bayliss in the saddle again.

Already a winner when third-up, a trouble-free run here should see the filly fighting out the finish.
