Kembla Grange racing takes place on Tuesday, April 15 with a 7-race program set down for Kembla Grange racetrack.
  • Race 3: No.3  Midnight Gambler
  • Race 4: No.3  Imperial State
  • Race 6: No.8  Prorata
  • Race 7: No.8  Mamushka

We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for  Kembla Grange racetrack.

Race 3: No.3  Moonlight Gambler

The Joe Pride-trained Moonlight Gambler is high-flying after two starts back and looks well placed here for back-to-back success in this event.

Last start, the Rubick gelding went one better than his first-up effort and broke through for his first career win in a Maiden Hcp over 900m at Newcastle.

Jay Ford backed-up from that first-up run and after settling one out and one back, finished best to claim the winner’s cheque for the race.

From gate five here, he maps to settle near the speed and has Ford sticking with him today.

Already placed twice from two starts at this track, he looks ready to claim his first Kembla Grange scalp and take home the chocolates in this contest.

Race 4: No.3  Imperial State

The Rosehill-based galloper is third-up here and from a dream draw looks set to make it two-straight in this event.

Last start, the three-year-old son of The Autumn Sun was second-up and improved enough to break through for his maiden win over 1100m at Gosford.

He settled near mid-field with Josh Parr aboard and finished strongly to take the honours by almost a length on the line.

He gets the gun-run from gate one here where he maps to settle better than mid-field on the fence.

Kerrin McEvoy takes the reins for this assignment and fitter for two runs back ,he looks the testing material in this contest.

Race 6: No.8  Prorata

Warwick Farm trainer Greg Hickman saddles-up Prorata here who is third-up and capable of bouncing back in this event.

The Pierata gelding resumed from a six-month absence two starts back where he did enough to win a Class 1 Hcp over 1300m at Bathurst.

Then last start, he missed the jump by a length and never recovered, finishing unplaced in a BM65 over 1400m at Canberra on a Soft 5 that day.

He trialled recently with Kerrin McEvoy in the saddle and he has taken the riding responsibilities in this event where the galloper meets similar company over the 1400m again.

He draws perfectly in gate one and has the blinkers on for the first time and with a little luck in running, he can figure in the finish at odds in this contest.

Race 7: No.3  California Sunrise

The Peter Snowden-trained galloper has been a model of consistency in her eight starts to date and looks ideally placed here to continue with the good work.

Last start, the well-bred Pierro mare resumed after nearly nine months off the scene when she impressed by finishing third in a BM72 over 1200m at Warwick Farm.

That result clocked-up six-straight podium finishes for the four-year-old who is re-united with Tom Sherry today, having ridden the mare to four top-three finishes in five previous rides.

She gets all the favours from gate one here where she maps to settle near mid-field, saving ground on the fence.

If Sherry can find clean air in the run home, she should prove hard to keep out in this contest.
