- Race 2: No.6 Triple Tempo
- Race 3: No.1 Viktor
- Race 4: No.5 Flying Bandit
We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Hawkesbury racetrack.
Race 2: No.6 Triple Tempo
The Bjorn Baker-trained Triple Tempo is second-up here and in her current form looks the testing material in this event.
Last start, the Yes Yes Yes filly resumed after six months off the scene and did it in style by taking out a BM58 over 1000m at Orange.
Brodie Loy had her box-seating on settling then in the run home, took control and hung on for an impressive win on fresh legs.
Ash Morgan returns to steer the ship today and although drawn wide, she has the early speed to cross and settle near the pace.
The three-year-old looks a very promising filly with two wins on her resume already from just four starts and avoiding any dramas here, looks the one to beat in this contest.
Race 3: No.1 Viktor
Bjorn Baker saddles-up the stablemate Viktor in this event and third-up today can break through for his first career win.
Last start, the well-bred Frankel gelding was second-up and showed plenty of improvement when finishing third in a Maiden Plate over 1300m on the Kensington track at Randwick.
Rachel King had him settled outside the leader and in the run home, battled home fairly, looking one run short.
King sticks with him today and ideally drawn in gate three here, he maps to be up on the speed.
Fitter for two runs back and returning to the provincial scene, he looks right in the mix among this lot today.
Race 4: No.5 Flying Bandit
The Kerry Parker-trained galloper has established himself as a promising prospect and second-up today, looks ideally placed to collect another gold medal in this event.
Last start, the Trapeze Artist gelding resumed off a 19-week break and did well to finish a close-up third in the Kembla Grange Provincial Championship Qualifier over 1400m.
It was a bold move by the connections to tackle such a strong contest where it almost came off as he was beaten just a length on the line with Nick Heywood aboard and jumping from gate 13 (of 14).
His nine career starts have resulted in four wins and three minor placings and he has a victory here on his resume.
Already a winner second-up, he will be out to atone for his last start effort and looks on his way after drawing ideally in gate two where he maps to settle back in the field on the fence and save himself for the run home.
He has tasted success over the 1800m previously and today welcomes back Jay Ford who has ridden the four-year-old to all four career victories to date.
Well drawn and fitter for that first-up effort, he should prove hard to hold out in this contest.
