Happy Valley racing takes place on Wednesday, April 16 with a 9-race program set down for Happy Valley racetrack.

Race 7: No.8 Glory B
The Doug Whyte-trained galloper has been on track at his past couple and looks well placed in this event to make his presence felt.
Last start, the Sir Prancealot gelding came off a Class 4 victory on this track when he missed by a whisker in making it two-straight, taking home second prize against similar company over the 1400m trip.
Lyle Hewitson was aboard for both runs but is replaced tonight by Hugh Bowman, having his first ride on the five-year-old.
From gate six, he maps to be mid-field with cover on settling and a clear run to the line can see him challenging for victory in this contest.
Race 8: No.4 Great Spirit
Dennis Yip saddles-up Great Spirit here who has found his best form again and looks set to shine again in this event.
Last start, the American Pharoah gelding recorded his second career win when he finished best to take out a Class 4 Hcp, here over 1200m.
Aboard for the first time, Andrea Atzeni settled him mid-field with cover before threading his way through traffic in the run home and arriving in time to take accolades for the race.
Drawn gate six tonight, he maps to run a déjà vu race and settle mid-field early with Atzeni sticking with him for this assignment.
He carries 3kgs more here but still looks great value racing against similar company on the same track.
Race 9: No.4 Embraces
The Cody Mo-trained Embraces is in top flight this time in and returning to ‘the Valley’ tonight, looks a serious player in this event.
Last start, the Reliable Man gelding finally drew a gate (2) and beat all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp over 1600m at Sha Tin.
Ridden a treat by Harry Bentley, he settled mid-field one off the fence and travelled sweetly to the turn before looking for room to produce his final effort.
Having to cross over heels inside the final 200 metres cost him ground and momentum but he was still finishing the best in race over the last 100m and did well to grab second prize, beaten a length on the line.
Regular rider Jerry Chau returns for tonight’s assignment, having steered the four-year-old to both career wins to date, and from gate six, he maps to settle in a similar spot with cover.
He has a win and two runner-up finishes from four starts at Happy Valley and with Chau back aboard, he will take beating in this contest.
