- Race 4: No.6 Zuetoro
- Race 6: No.5 Impendor
- Race 7: No.11 Super Impressive
We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Gold Coast racetrack.
Race 4: No.6 Zuetoro
The Jack Bruce-trained Zuetoro is second-up tonight and looks set to show improvement in this event.
Last start, the Toronado gelding resumed off a 10-week spell and had his first start for the Bruce stable when he finished a gallant fifth in a BM58 over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast.
Sitting three-wide without cover for most of the journey, he did well to finish just 1.5 lengths away from the winner that day.
Jake Bayliss is legged aboard for the first time here and from gate four, he should to settle nearer the fence tonight with cover.
Fitter for that first-up run, he gets the chance to make his Gold Coast debut a winning one in this contest.
Race 6: No.5 Impendor
Murwillumbah trainer Matt Dunn pops north of the border tonight and saddles-up Impendor here who has impressed with his five starts this preparation and looks well placed here to give this event a real shake.
Last start, the Impending gelding racked-up his third podium finish for this campaign when he took home third prize in a Class 3 Hcp over 1200m at Doomben.
In city class company, he came from well back to arrive in time and claim the minor prize in the race.
Seeing the Gold Coast track for the first time tonight, he draws well in gate two and maps to settle better than mid-field near the fence with Andrew Mallyon steering the ship.
With luck on his side in the big field here, a clear run to the line can see him figure in the finish of this contest.
Race 7: No.11 Super Impressive
The Colt Prosser-trained Super Impressive has found her mojo of late, winning two of her past three starts, and looks set for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Smart Missile mare got the job done at Muswellbrook when she took out a BM66 over 1000m on a Soft 5 that day.
Ben Looker settled her last in the 13-strong field and saving ground, kept her on the fence as they turned.
She railed like a greyhound and doing best over the final 100m, arrived just in time to claim the big prize on the line.
She is a two-time winner over 1100m so the step up in distance won’t be an issue.
Cejay Graham is legged aboard tonight for her first ride on the four-year-old mare and ideally drawn in gate three, she maps to settle near mid-field on the fence.
Dropping 4.5kgs for this contest, a trouble-free run should see her fighting out the finish tonight.
