Race 4: No.1 I Am Caviar
The Tony Gollan-trained galloper is second-up today and looks nicely placed in this event and capable of a second-up win.
Last start, the well-bred I Am Invincible gelding resumed after more than six months off the scene and wasn’t disgraced when finishing third in a Class 3 Hcp over 1000m at Toowoomba.
He settled mid-field with apprentice Chelsea Baker aboard before making up good ground and battling on to grab the minor prize in the race.
Down in grade today, he faces Class 2 company here and has Ryan Maloney as the new pilot for this assignment.
Already a winner when second-up, he looks in the mix here and well worth an each-way ticket in this contest.
Race 5: No.5 Twigman
The Paul Shailer-trained Twigman is three starts into this campaign and looks well placed here for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Preferment gelding showed plenty of improvement when he claimed victory in a BM65 over 1800m at the Gold Coast.
It was a long-awaited welcome back to form for the five-year-old who settled back in the field before finishing the best and crossing the line a length clear in the end.
Damien Thornton is the new pilot for this assignment and from gate two, he does little to no work early as he settles near mid-field with cover.
Stepping-up to BM 78 company here, he drops in weight and at his peak, fourth-up today, looks a serious competitor in this contest.
Race 6: No.2 Noble Decree
The David Vandyke-trained galloper is in top-shelf form this campaign and is capable of going back-to-back in this event.
Last start, the Per Incanto gelding chalked-up win number two when he clobbered a Class 1 field over 1350m at Doomben with Craig Williams aboard.
He settled mid-field before making his move on straightening, then finishing too strong, he crossed the line 1.5 lengths clear of the pack.
He has the outside gate (10) here and will need some luck early but should manage to cross and settle near mid-field as Ryan Maloney take the reins for this challenge.
With a little early luck going his way, he can be there at the finish in this contest.
