Dubbo racing takes place on Sunday, May 4 with an 8-race program set down for Dubbo racetrack.
- Race 5: No.6 Rich Street
- Race 6: No.6 Life’s A Party
- Race 8: No.10 This One Time
We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Dubbo racetrack.
Race 5: No.6 Rich Street
The locally-trained Rich Street is in a purple patch of good form and ticks enough boxes here to suggest he is a genuine winning chance in this event.
Last start, the Rich Enuff mare made it two wins from her past three starts when she took out a BM58 over 1600m at Orange.
Grant Buckley had her box-seating early before peeling off heels and arriving in time to snatch victory on the line.
She drops back to the 1400m today and has apprentice Emma Ly as the new pilot for this assignment who brings a handy 2kg claim with her as well.
Well drawn in gate three, the four-year-old maps to settle mid-field with cover and a trouble-free run here should see her there at the finish again.
Race 6: No.6 Life’s A Party
The Mark Jones-trained galloper is second-up today and fits the bill for back-to-back success in this event.
Last start, the Star Turn mare resumed after almost six months off the scene and impressed with a first-up win in a BM82 over 1100m at Bathurst.
Grant Buckley was aboard that day and after settling back in the field, drove the mare home to finish best and claim the winner’s cheque on the line.
Ideally drawn in gate two today, Buckley remains at the helm and maps to be box-seating from that gate.
Already a winner when second-up, the six-year-old meets similar company today and looks well placed to deliver another solid performance in this contest.
Race 8: No.10 This One Time
Scone trainer Rod Northam has This One Time firing on all cylinders now and looks set to go on with it in this event.
Last start, the Alabama Express filly was second-up when she broke through for her first win in a Maiden Plate over 1000m at Tamworth.
With apprentice Leeshelle Small on board for the first time, the three-year-old was given the run of the race, settling one out one back, before taking advantage of her light weight and finishing best to claim victory that day.
She tackles BM58 company today with Small in the saddle again and after the claim, is well-weighted with just 55kgs to carry for this assignment.
Jumping from barrier eight, she maps to settle centre-field with cover and fitter for two runs back, clean air should be all she needs to figure in the finish in this contest.
