- Race 5: No.5 Epic Poem
- Race 6: No.7 Arambys
- Race 7: No.6 Ms Reeves
We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Dubbo racetrack.
Race 4: No.6 Charlie Magic
Locally-trained by Brett Robb, Charlie Magic has impressed at his three career starts to date and looks a sloid chance of going back-to-back in this event.
Last start, the Irish-bred gelding came off a close-up second at Wellington and went one better when he broke through for his win by taking out a Maiden Plate over 800m at Narromine.
Sitting three-wide without cover to the turn, Shannen Llewellyn steered him back inside where he finished too strong for them, crossing the line one length clear in the end.
From barrier eight, he maps to settle near the speed again and has a new pilot with Shayleigh Ingelse in the saddle for the first time.
The three-year-old is in winning form and should prove hard to beat in this contest.
Race 5: No.5 Epic Poem
The Michael Mullholland-trained galloper is unbeaten in two starts this time in and despite a wide draw today, still looks in the mix to make it three-straight in this event.
Last start, the Star Turn gelding came off a first-up win on this track when he stepped up in grade and proved too strong again, taking out a Class 3 Hcp over 1400m at Wellington.
Shayleigh Ingelse was aboard on both occasions and has the reins for today’s assignment where he draws gate ten and maps to settle mid-field with cover.
Placed when third-up last preparation and a two-time winner here, he is back on soil today and looks a genuine contender in this contest.
Race 6: No.7 Arambys
The Scone-based galloper is second-up today and looks well placed to make some noise in this event.
Last start, the Tassort gelding resumed after six months off the scene and impressed by taking out a Narromine Maiden over 1100m.
Jake Pracey-Holmes had the three-year-old settled well back in the field and despite spotting the front-runners a space, finished strongly to reel them in and claim victory on the line.
He jumps from gate seven today and maps to settle near mid-field with Pracey-Holmes in the saddle again.
Fitter for that first-up win, he has placed when second-up previously and a trouble-free run here should see him there at the finish in this contest.
Race 7: No.6 Ms Reeves
Gary Lunn saddles-up Ms Reeves here who has found her mojo this preparation and ticks enough boxes here to suggest she is a front-line contender for the major prize in this event.
Last start, the Cable Bay mare came off a hat-trick of minor placings when she brought up her third career win, here in a BM58 over 1400m.
Zoe Hunt has been aboard for the mare’s past three runs and sticks with her today where she draws out in gate ten but maps to settle in the first half-dozen with little early speed in the race.
She loves racing here, chalking-up two wins and three minor placings from her nine starts at the track and up against similar company today, the five-year-old is more than capable of going back-to-back in this contest.
