The Team Munce-trained galloper is yet to miss a podium finish and first-up here, looks a prime contender for the major prize in this event.
Last start, the Written By filly ended her first campaign by finishing third in a BM65 over 1200m at Eagle Farm.
With Tahlia Fenlon in the saddle, she was box-seating on settling and tracked the leader to the turn, then in the run home, chased hard all the way but was unable to bridge the gap, taking home the minor prize on the day.
Fresh after 18-weeks off the scene today, she draws gate six and maps to settle near the speed with Fenlon on board again.
Coming off a recent trial win, the three-year-old is already a winner at the track and down to Class 1 grade here, she looks in the mix for victory in this contest.
Race 6: No.6 Stranglehold
The Richard Laming-trained galloper is in great touch this time in and stepping-up in distance today, looks well placed to find a spot on the podium in this event.
Last start, the Pierro gelding came off a big win at the Gold Coast when he took on BM68 company and finished mid-field over 1400m at the Sunshine Coast.
Luke Dempsey had him settled near mid-field before holding his own in the run home to finish sixth in the 12-strong field, beaten just over two lengths on the line.
Taking on Class 2 company today, he gets the gun-run from gate one and maps to do no early work as he settles near mid-field on the fence with Ryan Maloney steering the ship for the first time.
At his peak after three starts back, he steps-up to the mile trip for the first time here and with a clear run to the line, he can figure in this contest.
Race 7: No.5 Cindersea
Michael Freedman saddles-up Cindersea here who is in top-shelf form this campaign and ticks the boxes that suggest another win is on the cards in this event.
Last start, the Deep Field mare made it five-straight top-two finishes when she beat all but one to the line in a Class 4 Plate over 1000m at the Gold Coast.
Fresh off a seven-week let-up, she raced keenly throughout, forcing Rachel King to stop riding her and straighten the mare up, but still finished strongly to grab second prize, beaten a neck on the line.
Stepping-up to 1110m here, she draws gate six and maps to be near the speed on settling with Jace McMurray back after steering her to victory three starts back.
Unbeaten at Doomben in two starts to date, she drops 3.5kgs after the claim and clearly looks the one to beat in this contest.
