Cranbourne racing takes place on Friday, April 11, with a seven-race program set down for Cranbourne racetrack.

Race 1 No. 1- Skipjack
Race 2 No.2- Zwasp
Race 6 No. 2- Il Cubo

Race 1 No. 1- Skipjack

Skipjack can go close in the opener. The Moody/Coleman galloper steps out off an eight-week break after placing 3rd behind Chinqui at Caulfield in a BenchMark 74 back in February. He was a dominant winner in this grade when fresh at the track and trip back in January. The son of Rubick can stalk his rivals from barrier 4 and the 2kg claim for Luke Cartwright gets him down to a winnable weight.

Race 2 No.2- Zwasp

Zwasp can break the maiden in Race 2. The four-year-old is yet to win in nine starts but has placed in four. He was disappointing when resuming as a short priced favourite at Pakenham on March 27 over the 1200m, placing 4th, but generally needs one run to find his best. Despite going down, he comes in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner, while he was a 12 length improver second up last time at Sandown when dropping from the 1100m to the 1000m. Plenty of pace in this, which will suit, and I expect him to be running over the top of them late.

Race 6 No. 2- Il Cubo

Il Cubo shapes as a solid prospect in Race 6. The four-year-old hasnt been far away in his three runs this time in, narrowly missing out as the exacta horse at Pakenham when resuming before a bit of a luckless effort at Bendigo. At his most recent start, the Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper worked home well at Sandown for 5th, beaten three lengths by No Fuss. This looks slightly easier and he draws to enjoy the run of the race from barrier 5 with Beau Mertens to ride.
