We have the best bets picked from across the meeting with a Best Bet and other value selections for Coffs Harbour racetrack.
Race 5: No.8 Key Legend
Trained at Grafton by Tony Newing, Key Legend found his mojo under new race tactics last start and looks set for a déjà vu performance in this event.
From a wide gate (10 of 12), Matt McGuren pushed forward to lead on the Churchill gelding and full of running, never looked like being caught in a Class 1, here over 1305m.
The lead-on-settling tactics seemed to work and from gate two here, he maps to settle near the speed (possibly leading) again with Andrew Gibbons returning for his second ride on the four-year-old.
Meeting easier company here in a BM58 Hcp, similar tactics to his last start looks very much on the cards and carrying just 1.5kgs more, he looks the one they have to catch again.
Race 6: No.14 Volcanic Love
The Scott Henley-trained galloper is in great touch this time in and looks set for back-to-back wins in this event.
Last start, the Kermadec gelding bounced back from an unplaced effort in the city when he took out a Class 3 over 1110m at Lismore.
Seeing a heavy track for the first time, it made little difference as he carried 59kgs and Jai Williams to victory that day.
Ideally drawn in gate two here, he maps to settle just behind the speed with Williams steering the ship again.
Back to the 1200m, he has placed four times in his six attempts over the distance and is seeing the Coffs Harbour track for the first time.
He steps-up to BM82 grade here but drops 4kgs in the process.
Down in weight and drawn a handy gate, he looks in the mix for another win in this contest.
Race 7: No.2 Rapid Outlaw
Stirling Osland saddles-up Rapid Outlaw here who is third-up and ready to peak in this event.
Last start, the Headwater mare showed a ton of improvement off her first-up effort when she beat all but one home in a BM66 over 1600m at Inverell.
Heavily backed, punters sent her out a $2.70 elect where Mikayla Weir had her box-seating on settling and after taking over on straightening, she blew her chances by laying in all the way to line and found one better on the day.
She draws wide in gate 11 (of 14) here and maps to cross and settle near mid-field with Weir in the saddle again.
Already a winner when third-up and has had success over the mile previously, her debut appearance here could be a winning one at odds.
