Warwick Farm Racing Tips 13.10.2021 - 4 Best Bets

Warwick Farm hosts an eight-race card on Wednesday, October 13, and we have our four best bets available. James McDonald has an excellent book of rides, including well-fancied runners throughout the day.
  • Race 3 2:25pm No. 2 Jerle
  • Race 4 3:00pm No. 6 Grande Rumore
  • Race 6 4:15pm No. 4 Daralina Belle
  • Race 8 5:35pm No. 12 Six Again

Race 3 2:25pm No. 2 Jerle

James Cummings lines up the four-year-old gelding who hasn’t won for a while, but he got close last time out. He finished second behind Deniable at Rosehill, and racing against midweek company shouldn’t do his chances any harm. That run came only a week ago, so being on the quick back-up could help his fitness levels.

Having the Cummings polish is ideal and having James McDonald in the saddle is even better. He is riding in good form this season, and Jerle is a runner with plenty of potential. He has finished in the money in nine of his 13 starts, and he should extend that record.

Race 4 3:00pm No. 6 Grande Rumore

The five-year-old mare ran eighth at Rosehill last start, but the run was better than it looked. She was facing tough opposition, including Ellsberg, who finished second in a big race last Saturday. She was only 2.6 lengths behind the winner, and that form bodes well for midweek level of racing. The imported daughter of Night of Thunder looks ready to win after two runs back from a spell.

Jason Collett takes the ride, and after opening at $3.20, her odds have firmed into $3.10. We thought she would firm into around $2.50 on race day, so punters should take the odds available with bookmakers.

Race 6 4:15pm No. 4 Daralina Belle

Daralina Belle runs at short odds on Wednesday, but she is worth including in your selections. The Matthew Smith-trained mare is unbeaten after three starts, including a stunning 4.3-length win at Scone last time out. It followed close wins at Goulburn and Nowra, which showed her toughness, which is a good sign. She has matured nicely into a potential stakes-grade type, and her turn-of-foot last start was excellent.

Punters were quick to jump on her opening price of $1.95. She firmed into $1.65 in a matter of minutes, so punters are confident of Daralina Belle remaining unbeaten after four starts. $1.60 isn’t easy to take, but with James McDonald in the saddle, she should be able to get the job done.

Race 8 5:35pm No. 12 Six Again

The Matthew Dunn-trained four-year-old finished second on debut behind Eye See Things before returning this season and scoring a blistering 3.8-length win at Newcastle. Scoring by that margin over 900m isn’t easy to do, so the daughter of Written Tycoon clearly has speed to burn. She backed up a trial win at Warwick Farm with the win, and we’re surprised with the odds available.

Bookmakers opened her at $5.50 and she was met with immediate support. Her odds dropped to $3.30 very quickly, so punters were waiting at the ready. Carrying 55.5kg and Kerrin McEvoy in the saddle is ideal, so we’re happy with the current odds available.
