Hawkesbury Racing Tips 31.08.2021 - Top Value Tips

Hawkesbury hosts a Tuesday meeting on August 31, and we have our best bets. Premier jockeys Hugh Bowman and Tim Clark have a fantastic book of rides, so they're worth following on the midweek card. All our runners have been well-backed, so there is excellent market confidence.
  • Race 3 2:35pm AEST – No. 2 Raging Bull
  • Race 4 3:10pm AEST – No. 2 Ma and Pa
  • Race 6 4:25pm AEST – No. 1 Aeecee Express
  • Race 7 5:05pm AEST – No. 4 Moralist

Race 3 2:35pm AEST – No. 2 Raging Bull

David Payne lines up the three-year-old gelding that has run third in both career starts to date. The son of Bull Point ran third behind Cape Breton on debut at double-figure odds before running third behind Royalzel, which has since performed at a high level in Sydney. That run holds him in good stead, and it came on a rain-affected track, so he handles the conditions.

After opening at $3.10, we’re not surprised his odds have firmed to $2.90. That is a sizable move, but he is the best runner in the race and the in-form Tim Clark takes the ride, which adds to her appeal. Expect his odds to firm on race day.

Race 4 3:10pm AEST – No. 2 Ma and Pa

The Chris Waller-trained four-year-old has been heavily backed into $2.15 after opening at $2.60. He comes off two trial wins at Rosehill over some smart types, so that bodes well, and the four-year-old son of Redoute’s Choice should do his odds justice.

He finished second on debut at Randwick by two lengths before disappointing for ninth at Warwick Farm. He's a much better type than he showed on that occasion, so we’re prepared to give him another chance at the price.

Race 6 4:25pm AEST – No. 1 Aeecee Express

Aeecee Express looked good winning at Randwick last start and he’s capable of producing the goods once again. The three-year-old colt by Savabeel started his career with a third placing at Hawkesbury before winning by a narrow margin at Randwick. He paid double-figure odds on that occasion and punters are getting much shorter odds this time around.

He is likely to push forward from the draw and sit on the pace. If he’s able to get a soft lead, he has the gears to kick clear for an easy win. It’s another good ride for Tim Clark, who has emerged as one of the leading riders in Sydney.

Race 7 5:05pm AEST – No. 4 Moralist

Moralist is getting close to a win after running second at Scone last start. The seven-year-old gelding is no stranger to winning after posting four wins and five placings from 24 starts, so he’s more than capable of bouncing back at this level. The son of Uncle Mo is a two-time winner at the distance, and the track conditions shouldn’t be an issue.

His best form has come on good racing surfaces, but conditions are only improving. He gets the inside draw and Hugh Bowman in the saddle, so there are no excuses and we’re confident of a return to winning form. Punters get a value price of $4.80 and those odds should only firm on race day.
