Flemington Blackbookers and horses to follow from June 7

Not too sure if there will be too many stars to come out of Race 2 but Expulsion might be an improver going forward and over further ground. The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained galloper was back on a very slow and muddling tempo and copped a bump in the middle stages of the race, becoming unbalanced. She took a bit of time to get going but closed off well with the fastest last 200m at her first run since the Blue Diamond Series earlier this year. 

The three-year-olds lined up in Race 4 of the day and it was Salsa Fellow that edged out Soft Love. That pair came from back in the field with the winner producing the fastest last 200m of the entire meeting. He has won his past three starts, graduating from BenchMark 58 racing. The runner-up wasnt disgraced as a $2.60 favourite. Keen to see the Matt Laurie filly over slightly further ground. 

Big win by Shockletz in Race 8. The promising filly from the Ciaron Maher stable was stepping up to the 2000m for the first time and jumped out of the ground over the last 100m to reel in the runaway roughie, Prochester, with those two putting a big gap on the rest of them. The daughter of the 2009 Melbourne Cup (3200m) winner, Shocking, has now won three of her six career starts and went a healthy 12.9 lengths faster than standard benchmark, bettered only by Oh Too Good in Race 5. She can continue to progress.
