Horses to follow and blackbookers who caught the team's eye at the Caulfield meeting on May 8.

Race 1 - Spinning (third). Although well beaten by favourite Generation and finishing third, this is the one we want to be following. He was better suited first-up in a faster run race, now coming into Saturday finding himself very green with a slow tempo in front. Will only improve into his three-year-old prep and should get over more ground in time.

Race 3 - Lunar Flare (third). She attacked the line beautifully first-up coming home with the race fastest last 600m, 400m and 200m. Is is a nice staying mare in her right grade and excels on rain effected tracks which she will strike over the winter. Once she strikes form she can hold it, so confident that the daughter of Fiorente will be saluting shortly.

Race 8 - Ayrton (first). Everyone will be following this gelding out of Saturday’s meeting after toying with his rivals as the $1.50 favourite. He is on a Stradbroke path and will need to win the Fred Best Classic to get into that Group One. Has untapped ability and the figure he produced second-up last time in showed he is as good if not better than any three-year-old in the country. Genuine star.
