Adam Cusworth picks out his blackbookers and horses to follow from Saturday racing at Flemington on August 3.

- Race 7- Tajanis
Who were the eyecatchers, who should you add to your black book for upcoming races and meetings and who do we recommend following in the weeks and months ahead?
Race 2- Post Impressionist
A bit of an upset in Race 2 with the $1.45 fancy, Berkshire Breeze, going down to Horrifying. The 2350m race was run at a slow speed and this didn’t play into the hands of Post Impressionist, who was lumped with the 60kg and starting for the first time since a two-start autumn campaign that saw him score in the Manion Cup (2400m). He did enough at his first run since switching to the Anthony & Sam Freedman stable by sticking on for 4th and should improve with racing.
Race 3- Fortunate Kiss & Midtown Boss
Race 4 was a BenchMark 84 over the 1100m and went the way of Maotai. I didn’t mind the performance of Fortunate Kiss, who settled back in the field before producing the fastest last 200m of the entire meeting. She performed well at Group 3 level over the 1400m and will enjoy stretching out over longer trips in her current preparation. Midtown Boss headed into the race as favourite and was first up after running 5th in the Wangoom Handicap (1200m) back in May at the Warrnambool carnival. He could only manage 4th but can be forgiven as he pulled up with an issue.
Race 7- Tajanis
Tajanis was stepping out for his second start in Australia since switching to the Chris Waller camp from overseas and produced an improved performance by running 4th behind Star Vega in Race 7. The lightly raced five-year-old was specked at a bit of a price and settled handy before sticking on well to finish just under two lengths from the winner. He is one that can continue to improve over further ground and is one to consider at his next few starts.
