Horses to follow and blackbookers who caught the team's eye at the Ascot meeting on May 1.

Race 5 - Beret (second). Easily could've prevailed in another one or two races this campaign, including this event but again has been the victim of a wide barrier. She was five weeks between runs and staying at 1800m when rattling home from the rear. With a kinder draw next start, this mare gets another chance.

Race 6 - Nerodio (second). Defeated by Miss Conteki again, a mare that has now won seven of eight and she got the charmed run through on this occasion whereas Nerodio had to come around them (swap the runs/swap the result). All six of her victories have come at Belmont, with their season beginning on May 22.

Race 9 - Arnie's Boy (sixth). Has gone around at huge odds here third-up but has again found line well, getting a passage through late from the rear where he was particularly strong after the line. Winning strike rate isn't flash but has some strong prior form and is looking for a mile now, a trip which has brought about his last two wins.
