Race 3: No.6 Take A Leaf
The Tom Wolfe-trained galloper has improved off three starts back this preparation and looks set to go one better in this event.
Last start, the Long Leaf filly was third-up and found the podium when she finished third in a Class 1 Hcp over 1600m at Northam.
Ready for more ground that day, she came from well back early and sticking to the inside, fought on gamely to grab the minor prize where the going was a little slow on the Soft 6 track.
Nicely drawn in gate three here, she maps to be box-seating on settling with Brad Parnham as the new pilot.
Fourth-up and at her peak today, the 1700m looks ideal for the filly to play a major role in the finish of this contest.
Race 6: No.8 God’s Grin
Second-up today, the Team Pearce-trained galloper has been in consistently good form from the outset and looks ideally placed here to stake a claim for victory in this event.
Last start, the Playing God mare resumed after 22 weeks off the scene and did well to finish third in a Class 3 Hcp over 1200m at Pinjarra.
In a slowly run affair, she settled back in the field to the turn, then was held up before finding clear passage where she ran home well to grab the minor prize.
Ideally drawn in gate two here, she maps to settle just behind the speed with Brad Parnham remaining aboard for this assignment.
Fitter for one run back, the four-year-old thrives over the 1400m trip, boasting two wins at the distance already and with a trouble-free run today, should prove hard to beat in this contest.
Race 8: No.2 Hope To Rule
The Stefan Vahala-trained galloper is in good touch this preparation and from a good draw today, is every chance of figuring in the finish of this event.
Last start, the Universal Ruler mare made it three-straight podium finishes when she took home third prize, here in a 1600m Hcp with Steven Parnham in the saddle.
Box-seating from barrier rise, she tracked the leader all the way to the turn, then secured a rails run and took over before being grabbed by two better on the day.
Drawn ideally in gate two today, she maps to be box-seating again with regular rider Steven Parnham retaining the ride.
Meeting similar company here over 1700m today, the four-year-old looks in the mix for another podium finish in this contest.
