Ballarat Race 4 No. 1- Advance To Jaffa

Advance To Jaffa looks to be the one in Race 4. The locally trained galloper has had the two career starts, placing in both of those, which have been on the Turf at Ballarat.

He cost himself at the start on debut when runner-up in what has turned out to be a strong form race before again being a tad tardy from the gates when 3rd over the 1500m following that.

The Richard Cully-trained galloper has run some slick times relative to this grade in his two runs and gets the blinkers for the first time. 

Ballarat Race 5 No. 7- Take The Prize

Take The Prize is a solid player in Race 5 of the afternoon at Ballarat. The five-year-old always provides a solid contest on the Synthetic and was a BenchMark 58 winner three starts ago before rising to this grade and placing at her past two.

She led last time and looked home before going down in the shadows behind Life Sentence, while there was a solid gap back to the rest of them. Look for her to hold the lead from the inside barrier and be hard to get past late in the piece. 

Ballarat Race 8 No. 7 Banana Split

Banana Split can be an improver in the final race of the day. The six-year-old stepped out on the surface for the first time when resuming on July 16 and settled back over the 1100m in the field of 13 before producing the fastest last 200m to place 4th behind Capper Thirtynine.

The lightly raced mare should have improvement to come at her second run this time in and was a winner when second up at her recent preparation.
