Race 1 No.1- Kingsford
Kingsford can go close in the opener. The former Kiwi was sent over to Victoria after one start and lined up at Warrnambool during the recent carnival, placing 4th behind Sephia. He was back on a very slow tempo in a race that developed into a sit sprint, producing the fastest 400m-200m split before the lack of early speed counted against. He looks cherry ripe for the step up to the 1600m and draws perfectly with Dean Yendall to ride.
Race 7 No.11- Watersports
Watersports took a bit of time to get going in her career but has been in excellent touch this preparation and can overcome the wide barrier in Race 7. She chalked up her Maiden win at Swan Hill in March then just missed in a BenchMark 64 at Pakenham after that. At her most recent start, she lined up in a BenchMark 70 at Flemington and went for home a fraction early before being run down by Esternay, filling the exacta behind that horse. She likes the 1600m and shouldn't have too much trouble crossing over to settle handy. Expect her to fight out the finish.
