Ballarat Racing Tips for July 8- Super Trooper to push the odds on favourite in the opener at Ballarat

Super Trooper can cause a minor upset in the opener. It is Spirited Defence that looks hard to beat after some dominant performances over the 1200m in recent times. But Super Trooper hasnt been far away in some slightly harder races, narrowly missing in a BenchMark 64 last time behind Lensman on the Pakenham Synthetic. He just peaked late to go 0.5 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any runner. He gets the 1.5kg claim for Rose Hammond, who is one from one for the stable. 

Nordic can go on with the job in Race 5. The Andrew Noblet-trained galloper performs well here and resumed with a dominant performance when flashing home late to take out a BenchMark 58 over the 1200m on June 17. He was posted wide no cover on a slow tempo but had the answers. The five-year-old rises slightly in grade for this but will strip fitter and draws to box-seat from barrier 1.
