Bairnsdale Racing Tips for September 9 - Rockcliff to break through for a win after series of narrow misses

Scream shapes as an each-way contender in Race 6. The Amy & Ash Yargi-trained galloper has mixed her form of late and was a BenchMark 64 winner over the 1000m on the Ballarat Synthetic three starts ago but has finished out of the money in harder company at her past two. He should appreciate the switch back to the turf and loves the Bairnsdale track, producing a win and a runner-up in two starts. He drops sharply in grade and will be asked to carry weight, but he comes in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner, while he has the early speed to find a spot up front from the wide barrier. 

I am keen on another one at the each-way quote and it is A Penny Spent in Race 7. The seven-year-old has had two runs at her current preparation and has worked home well in both of those, finishing 5th and 3rd at Sale. She came out wide last time and made late ground. The Sale-based galloper makes the trek down to Bairnsdale and should be ready to peak at her third run, while she draws better this time around. 

Rockliff is a solid contender in Race 8 at Bairnsdale. The seven-year-old has been a model of consistency this preparation, placing in four of five. He narrowly went down at Warrnambool two starts ago before heading to Moe and placing 3rd behind Shanghai Venture. The Ray Besanko-trained galloper has attracted support in the early betting for this and can box seat from the barrier with the 2kg claimer, Logan Bates, to ride.
