Ascot racing takes place on Saturday, May 10 with a 9-race program set down for Ascot racetrack.

Race 3: No.2 Toropa
Race 8: No.5 Snitzalatte
Race 9: No.6 Siberian Siren

Race 3: No.2 Toropa

The Stephen Miller-trained Toropa has returned in winning form and looks the one to beat again in this event.

Last start, the Toronado mare resumed off a 22-week break and having her first start for the Miller stable, proved too good for them in a BM72, here over the 1000m sprint.

Regular rider Brad Parnham was in charge and after settling the mare mid-field early, timed his to perfection and arrived in time to claim the winner’s cheque.

The four-year-old meets similar company over the same track and distance today with Parnham at the helm again and from gate three, maps to settle mid-field or better.

In the small field of seven, she should be parked ready to pounce on straightening, then a clear run to the line should see her saluting yet again.

Race 8: No.5 Snitzalatte

Adam Durrant saddles-up Snitzalatte for the Sires’ today who looks better placed here and is a genuine winning chance.

Last start, the Snitzel filly came off two solid wins and was unbeaten when she tackled the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate, finishing a close-up third in the black-type event.

She drew wide in gate 11 (of 16) and with Lucy Fiore in the saddle, settled mid-field, three wide without cover, before finishing strongly and arriving in time to claim the minor prize, beaten just over a length on the line.

The extra 200m here looks ideal for her today and she draws much better in gate two with William Pike as the new pilot for this assignment.

At her peak after three runs to date, she looks a serious candidate to take the honours in this contest.

Race 9: No.6 Siberian Siren

The Team Casey trained galloper has been a consistent performer this time in and with all boxes ticked here, looks the one to beat in this event.

Last start, the Grunt mare made it two wins from her past three starts (on this track) when she overcame issues to claim victory in a BM66 over 1400m.

Brayden Gaerth was aboard for the first time and despite dropping a rein in the run home, the apprentice rider still managed to steer the mare to victory that day.

The four-year-old steps-up to BM70 company today but drops 2kgs in weight (after the claim) and will carry just 56kgs for this assignment.

She gets the gun-run from gate one today and maps to be box-seating on settling.

In top-shelf form this preparation and drawn to perfection, she can give this contest a real shake today.
