Randwick Best Bets for Saturday 24th August

Randwick hosts the first Group 1 of the season this Saturday when the Winx Stakes hosts 10 of the best thoroughbreds in Australia.

We have done the form for the entire meeting to find our Randwick Best Bets for Saturday 24th August.

With the likes of the Up & Coming Stakes and Silver Shadow Stakes on the card, there’s terrific betting fields throughout the day.

Our Randwick Best Bets starts with a Chris Waller-trained three-year-old in the Group 3 Up & Coming Stakes.

Randwick Race 3 Predictions – True Detective @ 2.40

True Detective is our best bet for the Up & Coming Stakes and one of our best bets on the Randwick card this Saturday.

He’s a talented three-year-old colt for Chris Waller, which scored a win on debut at Rosehill before running second behind Spend and Misteed.

That’s form which will stack up nicely this campaign and it’s good to see his odds holding steady. He was heavily backed early – dropping from an opening quote of 3.30 into 2.40, and it’s a positive to see that quote not drifting.

Leading jockey James McDonald should give True Detective a dream run from barrier 3 and with only 55.5kg on his back, the colt is perfectly weighted to score.

Randwick Race 5 Predictions – Libertini @ 1.70

There is some serious hype surrounding Libertini and we’re confident she’s the real deal.

Anthony Cummings has a big opinion of the three-year-old filly after putting away her opposition with ease at her last two starts.

Her only defeat came on debut behind the scintillating Bivouac and both wins came in impressive fashion.

She showed an extreme turn-of-foot when winning at Randwick second up and again when winning at Scone.

This will be her ultimate test fresh up and against a hot field, but if she’s as good as we think she is, she will win.

Punters will have to take the short odds on offer after 2.00 was taken earlier in the Silver Shadow Stakes betting markets.

Randwick Race 6 Predictions – Cascadian @ 4.80

Overseas form typically stacks up nicely in Australia and Cascadian brings over some exciting form from the France.

With three wins and two placings from six starts, the four-year-old is a professional type which finished eighth last time out, but that came behind Alpha Centauri at Deauville.

Form out of that race should hold up nicely and although we rate Australian sprint racing higher than that in the UK/France, he looks to have good ability.

His stablemate Deprive also looks a good bet, but the 4.80 odds for Cascadian represents each-way value.

He’s paying 1.95 for the place and we’re expecting those odds to be trimmed by horse racing bookmakers come race day.

True Detective, Libertini and Cascadian all look good bets on the Randwick card.

Libertini is our best bet of the day and she should be winning the Silver Shadow Stakes with some class.
