It's always a great race and this year we believe Chris Waller has the best winning chance with the likes of Nobu and Re Edit.

However, there's plenty of winning chances and we have our best bets for the 2020 Queensland Derby.

2020 Queensland Derby Best Bet - Nobu @ 4.20

Chris Waller has Nobu flying after consecutive wins coming into the Queensland Derby. The three-year-old scored at Randwick by 4.3 lengths and backed that up with a win at Randwick last start.

That's on the back of a failed attempt at the New Zealand Derby where he finished 17th, but he has come back to Australia and has hit top gear.

Nobu
Nobu is a leading chance in the Queensland Derby

There's little doubt about seeing out the 2400m distance and with Tommy Berry being a good judge of race tempo, he's the man to have in the saddle in a race like this.

Nobu is a top type at this level.

2020 Queensland Derby Best Each Way - Re Edit @ 7.00

Re Edit is another runner for Chris Waller which is still in her first preparation, but we like where she's heading.

The Camelot filly ran third behind Kenedna in the PJ O'Shea Stakes last start and that's open-class Group 1 form.

She might be taking on the boys here but the 55kg on her back helps and it's good to see James McDonald take the ride.

She's unknown over this distance but her run last time out suggested that she won't have any troubles seeing it out. Her breeding also gives punters confidence coming into the 2019 Queensland Derby.

2020 Queensland Derby Best Roughie - Carif @ 11.00

Carif ran a close second behind Nobu last start so there's no way we can leave him out of calculations.

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained colt has won only one of his nine starts, but his runs over distance have been good and pushed Nobu to his limits last start.

That run should hold him in good stead for this and Kerrin McEvoy is a big-race rider. He wasn't on board last start but he did ride Carif in three stars prior to that.

It's good to see him reunite with the son of So You Think and we wouldn't be surprised to see Carif winning the Queensland Derby at double-figure odds.
