2020 San Domenico Stakes Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips

The San Domenico Stakes is a highlight race at Rosehill and the 2019 field is packed with stellar thoroughbred talent.

Race favourite Bivouac could be the next big thing in Australian racing, but standing in his way are the likes of Yes Yes Yes and Exceedance.

It promises to be another exciting edition of the San Domenico Stakes and punters should use this race as a form guide for the Sydney Spring Carnival.

2020 San Domenico Stakes Best Bet – Bivouac @ 1.60

If there was ever going to be a statement win from a three-year-old, it was that of Bivouac’s win last start.

The well-bred son of Exceed And Excel dealt to the opposition at Caulfield when scoring by 4.3 lengths and the form out of that race looks extremely strong for this.

There wasn’t a lot of hype surrounding Bivouac before the spring season started, but that has all changed now and punters will have to take the odds-on quote on offer.

Bookmakers aren’t taking any risks with the James Cummings-trained star and that’s fair enough.

He could be the next big thing for Godolphin and we’re excited to see what he can deliver come race day.

2020 San Domenico Stakes Best Each Way – Yes Yes Yes @ 3.80

Punters shouldn’t sleep on Yes Yes Yes because he’s a talented colt which could return in fine style.

His best form last season included three consecutive wins and that form stacks up beautifully. He scored a comprehensive win at Randwick before running seventh in the Golden Slipper.

Improved track conditions are the key to his success and with the track rating a soft 5 throughout the week, he should handle the track nicely.

Trainer Chris Waller has a big opinion of the colt and bookmakers are also respecting his chances.

3.80 is a fair price given his talent and he should remain rock-steady in the betting.

2020 San Domenico Stakes Best Roughie – Anaheed @ 11.00

Anaheed is a little enigmatic but the filly is talented at best. The Snowden-trained three-year-old finished at the tail of the field last start but form prior reads well.

She recorded a gutsy win in the Group 2 Sweet Embrace at Randwick in April and anything close to that form would see her threatening this hot field.

However, this field is stacked full of talented colts and she’s only getting 1.5kg off the back of Bivouac.

Is that enough to make the ultimate difference? It could be and she’s worth including in selections at the double-figure odds.

Bivouac is certainly the star runner in this field and it looks his race for the taking. That's providing he can run up to the same level he showed last start.

Punters are getting good odds with Yes Yes Yes and Anaheed. Both three-year-old runners have upset claims against the hot-pot.
