Horses to follow and blackbookers who caught the Blackbook.com.au team's eye at the Randwick meeting on July 17.

Race 3 - Super Effort (second)

May have made this interesting had he drawn a gate, but irrespective, it was a great second-up effort by this gelding, coming from a Newcastle Maiden win. Joining the Ryan & Alexiou yard after showing promise, but not winning in his first two campaigns. Has only got off heels at the 100m before storming home late behind a fit winner that had all the favours.

Race 4 - Unamerican (fourth)

Still quite a lightly raced stayer who returned with a nice effort at Warwick Farm and with a flatter second-up performance, has shown he's back on track, even if it is for something easier given he's a 65 rater competing in a Saturday 78. Shouldn't have any trouble at 2000m and is one to keep an eye on back to midweek or even Provincial level.

Race 10 - Handspun (third)

Easily the pick of the off-speed runners behind the in-form winner, Our Bellagio Miss was this returning Godolphin mare, a five-year-old that was plain in two summer efforts, but was mostly consistent prior to that and she does have the ability to handle wet or good ground. She found the line strongly late and over six to seven furlongs, is far more effective.
