Horses to follow and blackbookers who caught the Blackbook.com.au team's eye at the Flemington meeting on May 15.

Race 7 – Grand Pope (sixth). Looked the winner with a furlong left, but was very keen in the run and will only improve with more racing under the belt. Flemington suits his style as well where he can build into his races, but even though his run on Saturday looked as if he peaked and his run came to an end, he would have gone much closer had he settled earlier.

Race 9 – Pearl Bandit (fourth). It was a big class rise for this galloper, and being only beaten by just under a length will hold him in good stead going forward. He arguably finishes a little closer if he was out at the top of the straight rather than being caught behind runners, but overall it was a good run and one that may slip under the guards of bookies early next start.
